Are you crazy?

Looking around lately, it seems like this country is being run by corporate greed.

A couple of years ago, I told a friend of mine that I think this country is headed for a revolution by the middle class.

The middle class is being squeezed out by by corporate greed. The rich are demanding high returns on their investments. Companies are trying to please these stock holders by cutting costs. That means outsourcing and cutting jobs.

Politicians are being bought off by oil companies, pharmaceuticals, insurance companies, and others. That’s why there are such stupid laws that only benefit those industries that are sucking up your dwindling income.

It’s time for the people to take back this country. Take a look at your voice in Washington and look at your reps voting history. Are those politicians in Washington representing you or just lining their pockets with contributions from lobbyists? Keep that in mind when you vote. Do some research before election day.

Just think about it. Why do cars get such poor gas mileage. Or, why health costs are so high?

Because of corporate greed, the dwindling middle class is forced to shop at Wal-Mart because that’s all they can afford. And Wal-Mart has gone downhill since Sam died. Remember that even if the product your buying is from a US company doesn’t mean it was made in this country. I mean, just look at Mattel? They tell you that it’s ‘Global Manufacturing’, which means slave labor. It;s no good to tell the government to restrict imports. That just starts trade wars. The vest way to stop those imports is to vote with your feet. Spend your money at your local Mom and Pop store. The benefit of that is that you’re helping your neighbor. And besides, you don’t have to fight traffic in the store or parking lot. It’s faster when you can get what you need and not stand in a long line to check out.

It’s time to take back your life Do it today before it’s too late.

Is Web 2.0 working?

First off, if you’re a member of SU, give this blog a thumbs up. Thank you.

SU (Stumble Upon) is part of Web 2.0. Along with MySpace, FaceBook, Flickr, and many others. Web 1.0 was a one-way look at websites. There isn’t any interaction. Web 2.0 gets visitors involved and providing content. For instance, social networks.

Social networks have exploded because of the viral effect. Friends telling friends where they hang out online. MySpace used to be popular with high school kids until the sexual predators moved in. Now, MySpace is losing members big time. FaceBook was popular with college kids. Now it looks like the high school kids are moving in.

I use Yuwie. The thing I don’t like about MySpace and FaceBook is they’re greedy. Their business model involves advertising and offering upgrades and premium options. So, what they are doing is using their members to grow their business (and revenue). Nobody does that for free.

What do the members get? A place they can call their own. They can put up pictures or share anything they like with their friends. Ir sounds great, but these kids need money.

It would seem to me that with all that money those social networks make, they would at least share it with their members. After all, they wouldn’t be making all that money if it wasn’t for the work done by their members.

I mentioned earlier what social network I use. They figured it out and are sharing their revenue with their members. Now, not only do you have place of your own where you can hang out with your friends, but you get paid for doing it. How great is that? Now, what if you also got paid whenever your friends used Yuwie? They do that, too. But rather than me blabbering about that, check it out for yourself.

Getting back to web 2.0. There are winners and losers. The winners will rise to the top where everyone knows about it. The losers will just fade away. In fact, you may never even know they ever existed.

Social bookmarking is another Web 2.0 phenomenon. There are many of them. such as del.icio.us, SU, furl, spurl, and many others. With social bookmarking, the popular bookmarks rise to the top.

There’s a trend going on with Web 2.0 websites. It’s popularity. Think about that for a minute.

Please leave a comment and let me know what you think. Thanks.
